Superintendent of Schools

Nick Compagnone, Ph.D., serves as Superintendent of Schools for the 16 Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Salina, including Sacred Heart Grade School of Plainville. Dr. Compagnone has 44 years of experience in education and has served on many state and national level committees and held various prestigious offices in educational organizations over the years. In addition to his duties as diocesan superintendent, Dr. Compagnone serves as Director of St. Mary's Grade School and Sacred Heart Junior/Senior High School in Salina.

Fr. Brian Lager has been pastor of Sacred Heart and St. Thomas parishes since 2016. Fr. Lager previously served as pastor in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Concordia, Kansas, St. Edward Parish in Belleville, Kansas, St. George Parish in Munden, Kansas, St. Isidore Parish in Cuba, Kansas, and Associate Pastor at St. Mary Queen of the Universe Parish in Salina, Kansas. Fr. Lager was ordained in 2012 and attended Saint John Vianney Theological Seminary in Denver, Colorado. He had previously worked as a missionary for the Fellowship of Catholic University Students and received his bachelor's degree from Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas. He is from St. Paul's Parish in Angelus, Kansas.

Laura Foss has been the principal since 2013. She is a familiar face to SHGS, having taught first grade at SHGS since 1997. Laura also taught fifth grade one year at SHGS and one year in Korea while her husband was in the service. An alumnus of SHGS, she earned both Bachelors and Masters Degrees at Fort Hays State University, and a basic catechist certificate through the Diocese of Salina. She and her husband Kendall have two daughters.
